So, I'm having issues with the dash on my 06' Roadster. I'm trying desperately to figure out a way to either replace or fix these deteriorating corner vents, but I can't seem to find a part # to replace them? Has anyone else had this issue? I think those vents may be a part of the entire dashboard. I don't want to replace the entire thing (it's otherwise in good shape), but it's driving me crazy staring at these horribly deteriorated vents every time I drive the car. It's this way on both sides. Otherwise, the interior is in good shape.
Any help? If they can't be easily replaced, how can I try and have them fixed so they don't look so terrible?
I've never seen the plastic deteriorate that much with the dashboard vents. What kind of cleaner/protectant have you been using on the dash? Your best bet may be checking local salvage yards or ebay for a used dashboard.
It was this way when I bought the car (I got it about 3 months ago used). I don't know what the prior owner used on it. I really don't want to go through replacing an entire dashboard....
2 things you can do;
1. call Nissan and ask the parts department for the part #.
2. get a G2 caliper or similar epoxy paint. Tape the dash around the vents and paint'em. The thick epoxy paint should make'em smooth. They'll look better than new. Got to do at least 2 coats. Used G2 on my calipers and the stuff is great.
