Default 03 350z base headlight swap to 06+ HELP

I need help guys. I've searched about the headlight swapping. And I decided to switch the 8 pin connectors on the headlights to a 6 pin for a direct plug and play. But no luck, when I connected them. All I got was the drl on, not even the turn signal would work. Is there any more wiring that I have to do for the swap to function??

I think you did it backwards assuming you are going from base/halogen to HID. You need to change the 6-pin harness in your Z to 8-pin for the HID '06+ headlights.

In all honesty, I guess you could change the 8-pin HID headlight harness to 6-pin, but you would need to do more wiring and essentially be grouping the turn signal, parking light, and side marker together.

Oh damn so I went backwards on it. But I read a few converted to the 6 pin, but now I'm lost on what other wiring I need to do

Easiest way to convert 6-pin (Base model Z) to ‘06+ HID:

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F333199264966

Plug n’ play.... just as easy as pre-‘06 HID to new Bi-Zenon.

I made this a while back when I was doing a retro. This is from the 2005 FSM, so the colors may be different than your '03, but hopefully the pinout is the same.

View is looking at harness from vehicle and NOT looking at the harness on the back of the headlamp!

LH = Left hand or Driver Side.

RH = Right hand or Passenger side.

Wire color:

B = Black ========

W = White ========

R = Red ========

G = Green ========

L = Blue ========

Y = Yellow ========

BR = Brown ========

PU or V (Violet) = Purple ========

GY or GR = Gray ========

1: Turn signal, power + (LH: G/W; RH: PU/W)

2: Headlamp High, power + (LH: R/Y; RH: BR)

3: High/Low Headlamp, ground – (LH: B/W; RH: B/W)

4: Turn signal/parking light/side marker, ground – (LH: B; RH: B)

5: Side Marker/parking light, power + (LH: R/L; RH: R/L)

6: Headlamp low, power + (LH: R/B; RH: R)

1: Turn signal/parking light/side marker, ground – (LH: B; RH: B)

2: Turn signal, power + (LH: G/W; RH: PU/W)

3: Headlamp High, power + (LH: R/Y; RH: BR)

4: Headlamp High, ground – (LH: B/W; RH: B/W)

5: Side marker, power + (LH: R/L; RH: R/L)

6: Parking light, power + (LH: R/L; RH: R/L)

7: Headlamp Low HID, power + (LH: R/B; RH: R)

8: Headlamp Low HID, ground – (LH: B; RH: B)

Wow that's awesome. For anyone that's into DIY, I made my own using these for about $50:

Between your molex source and Heel’s wiring chart, done and done.

I’m just lazy and would probably waste the extra $40 to save time. 😆

Default What I bought was a 6 pin to 8 pin converter

What I ended up buying was a 6 pin to 8 pin for my depo headlights . I haven’t installed them yet . But I took a gamble and hope everything ends up working out . And if you guys have some insight on this please message me ! I could really use the help

You should be fine. Where did you get them from?

If you run into any problems, you can troubleshoot using the pinout diagram above.
