I'm new to 350Zs, just picked mine up last week. I'm working through a number of things on it to freshen things up. One of the issues, which I believe is fairly common, is the leather is pretty much falling off my steering wheel into my hands as I drive. I was looking at something like this to re-wrap the wheel:
Years ago I had an old Acura Legend that suffered from the same issue. I purchased a leather wheel wrap that was not fitted to the cut of the wheel like the one above. While it changed the feel of the wheel and was noticeable if you were looking for it, I felt it was an excellent solution to the problem and was quite happy with it:
So I have fairly high hopes that this would be a good alternative than replacing the wheel. I was wondering if anyone had any past experience with this sort of thing as my searches here on the forum haven't turned up many results.
Also, has anyone tried replacing the leather bits on the stock manual shift ****? I'm thinking an aftermarket shift **** would be the best there.
I I've ordered from there and had good experience, but anything fabric related, that's ordered from China, is usually cheaper/thinner than it looks in the pictures so you need to take that into consideration.
I have used a wrap (not on my Z but instead an old Montero) from wheelskins.com, and it was excellent. It took some effort to get it into place, but well worth the trouble.

I haven't yet received the wheel wrap but it sounds like if it's not all that great, wheelskins will be my backup. I'll definitely report back my results!
So I received the cover in yesterday in the mail. It looks descent. It's definitely real leather and smells nice. It appears cut well and stitched nicely. The leather is very thin and not the greatest quality but we'll see how it does after installation. The kit came with two spools of red thread (I specified red), double-sided tape and a tool to help stretch(?) the leather. What was not included was instructions. I'll likely start working on this tomorrow or Sunday if I have time. Here's a few shots of everything:

My convertible top is starting to leak badly. I've been trying to keep it under control but it's getting worse. I am going to hold off on installing this until I get my top squared away.
