Are some dash trims interchangeable between year models?
I have a 2006 track edition. Bought about 2-3 weeks ago and my dash trims have some scratches. I'm checking out a wrecked 03 z track edition and wondering if I can take some of those
parts. Would that work?

For USDM 350Z models, there was a trim change which affected the waterfall dash. I'm not sure if that applied to other markets, but 2006 was the year Nissan made the mid-model upgrades. How did you get scratches on the waterfall area?

It would be cheaper and no fit issues to remove them and respray with Duplicolor fabric paint, I have a friend who swears by it.

There are two different interior designs, like dkmura said the USDM got it in 06. The most notable identification of the updated interior is aluminum colored a/c control ***** and raised aluminum shifter trim. The older interior is swappable, but you need the entire waterfall, the white a/c control behind the *****, the center console, shift trim, and knee pads. They are not individually changeable. Most people consider that interior a "downgrade" as you lose a convenient 2 cup holder/compartment, and get cheaper (subjective) looking a/c controls and shifter trim, although the paint is higher quality.
I used the method jhc suggested and while it was not a 100% match but the light coating gets rid of the scratches, makes it a little more durable and you couldn't tell the difference from oem unless you set my car side-by-side with an oem one and stared at it.
P.S. if that coin container/ashtray below the shifter is in good working order, those are extremely notorious for breaking and might be worth some money to the right buyer.

Thanks guys, I ended up buying the dash trim fr the 03 and learning the hard way that it don't fit. BUT. if you guys know anyone who'd buy it off me that would be great.
also, thanks for the suggestion to respray, i knew from the start I could do that but I thought you'd still be able to see the scratches through the paint.
Idk how the scratches got there as I've only just bought this z about 3 weeks ago.

Sorry for that and thanks for the update!
Repainting is very inexpensive but it does require several coats, sanding with #400 paper in between. Gl!
