A YEAR OF INSANITY, PLEASE HELP! (door problems)
Hey guys! So I've hade an 05 fairlady z track edition for about a year now and it's been great but there is one problem that has been driving me insane.
Whenever the driver's door is closed when tapping the brakes or going over bumps or even lightly tapping the dash the window slightly rolls down and then up, as if you were opening the door and the window was making clearance like normal. This does stop whenever the window is even slightly down.
Any advice on what could be happening? I've checked the door jamb switches and they are fine, I replaced both the driver's and passengers door so I am assuming a short in the wiring maybe?
Any advice would be much appreciated and if it is a short, where do the wires run? Where should I be looking?
Thanks guys!

Welcome- your initial post lacks some detail that could be helpful. First, since you've owned this particular Z for a year, did this window problem exist when you first purchased the car? Next, why did you replace both doors on the car? This isn't a common issue on Z33s, so it might be due to whatever work was done after the car was built.
It sounds like there is a short or loose connection somewhere in the sensor that detects when the door is opened or possibly at the BCM itself. Whenever you open the door, the window will slightly go down about 10mm and then when it is shut, it will fully roll up. This is described as the "anti-pinch system" in the FSM. It does not do this if the window is cracked. I would recommend checking the driver's side door switch. Of course, this is just a guess. Good luck!
Thanks guys, it's done this since I first brought the car, as far as I am aware the previous owners have never done any work to the door panel. The only work that had been done to it was coilovers, tints, an ugly aftermarket spoiler and an aftermarket headunit. I didn't replace both doors just the switches that detect whether they're open or not since they were cheap and might as well have done them. I know it's a bit of a weird problem. I'm thinking maybe the wire is shorting from when the headunit was installed because tapping the dash makes the window do it's weird dance?
Thanks again for trying to help me guys.
