Default Help Wanted: SRS Module / Full System Delete?

Shot in the dark, but hoping some of the OG’s are still lurking and can help me out.

I’ve got a 2006 Base model that I’ve completely gutted for track use only. Stock seats replaced with buckets, stock seat belts replaced with harness, QR steering wheel with resistor in place for the airbag, cage installed, and plans to remove the passenger airbag.

It’s crazy to me that I haven’t seen the question really pop up, addressed or answered anywhere - but how have people handled the SRS connector going into the stock seatbelt assembly, when the stock seatbelts have been removed? Is it totally ok to just leave it unplugged, or does it need a resistor as to not throw an airbag light?

Alternatively, could I just simply remove the entire SRS module and leave everything unplugged?

Maybe the broader/simpler question is, how have those that have converted their cars to full track duty, dealt with SRS? Deleted it? Unplugged it? Resistors? Had any issues with airbag lights or NATS?

Ideally I’d like to eliminate as much of that system as I can, and tidy up some of the interior wiring.

Really appreciate anyone’s insight in advance - Thanks,

No Z experience here but what I'm going to try on another car is to use a scanner to delete the SRS light permanently. Probably would not work except with a high end scanner and programmer.

Can't help with the airbag light but I would highly recommend an Uprev flash to fix the throttle restriction, unlock some extra HP, and disable NATS just to get it out of the way.

Some good take-aways in there for sure - thanks for sharing. Seems like they were mostly just trying to get rid of the airbag light when the driver's seat has been replaced with an aftermarket one, but still retaining all of the other SRS features & system.

Luckily, my base model Z did not come with any of the other fancier SRS features built into the seats, so I only have the seatbelt connector sensor under my stock seats. That's as easy as just unplug and we're good so the seatbelt light doesn't come on.

If I planned to retain any part of the larger SRS system (like wanted to still have a passenger airbag), then I could see going the route of some of what that guy did on the C7 forum: grab some 2.2ohm 1/4 watt resistors and wire them in. But since my plan is to fully delete the system, ideally remove the module from the center console - I'd like to just eliminate as much of all that wiring as I can. Going to the module, there's a center connecter (I'm assuming to the crash sensors), and then a left and a right connector which appear to send info to the left and right seatbelt pre-tensioners in event of a crash. Since the seatbelts themselves have been removed, those SRS connectors to the seatbelts are unplugged. I'm hoping to essentially just terminate all of the wiring that would normally go into the SRS module, and everything would be fine. I might have to wire some resistors to prevent an Airbag/SRS light. But my bigger concern is actually having the car operate correctly. Sounds like any NATS inter-connectivity into the SRS system could be bypassed with an UPREV flash anyways.

I can't be the first to fully remove SRS module and wiring, but still use stock ECU.

Appreciate the replies thus-far - nice to see the forum isn't completely dead.
