Unhappy Previous Owner Rat Infestation/How To Open Metal Box

Hi,

This is my first post so apologies if it's in the wrong place

I recently purchased a 350z, not knowing that rodents were previously living in the trunk (droppings, seed husks). The droppings are all dry and hard now, leading me to believe the rodents have moved out long ago (I've placed some traps near the car just in case). I've since torn out all the mats, foam blocks and trim in the trunk to wipe up all the evidence, but one section I can't easily clean is the metal rectangle that sits against the seats. I see lots of droppings and seed husks in there, but the two holes are just too small to fit anything through.

Is it possible to open this rectangle? I'll probably try either way as it would annoy me to know there is rat **** in my car, but wanted to ask here before I start tearing the car apart.

Also, is there other places I should clean in this situation (I know one spot is the fuel pump cavity)?

Thanks in advance

I think you need to remove the rear speaker house to expose all the seems/bolts. Even then, I'm not 100% certain that panel is removeable. There are a bunch of bolts, so that's a good sign.
Good Luck!
