How to put hood on- need help quick
OK- I got the stock hood off pretty easily, nothing big to it, but I don't know how to get my new hood on. The screws that go into the hinge weren't on the new hood I got. How do I get the screws off the stock hood? Is there something else I'm supposed to do? I need to get my hood on pretty quickly because I only have one car and don't wish to put my oem one back on... By the way- the gruppe s carbon fiber hood is of really good quality.

My C.F. hood is on the way, so I checked the manual.
The only thing it states is: "Remove the hinge mounting nuts on the hood to remove the hood assembly".
Have you determined what your problem was?

i pmed this to jpizzle couple of days ago..might be helpful to some ppl
the stock hood has screws that are attached to the hood (easily understandable if you take a look at the hood
try and bear with me here and ill explain it...if you put the stock hood back on you would be slipping the screws that are attached to the hood starting from the top of the hood latch and pushing them through...still with me...then (still with the stock hood) you fasten those bolts by screwing the nuts (i think tahts wat they call em) from the bottom up...
but with an after market hood you different bolts (4 pieces total)...those bolts are slipped from the bottom of the hood latch and scrwed into the holes in the hood while someone holds the hood in place
its pretty simple when you see it but what you really need are those bolts...im not sure of their size because they were included with my hood...i have my cf hood at home and its staying off for good but i didnt pay attention to see if the body shop left the bolts in the hood...if they did i wouldnt mind sending them to you but it wont be sent till the end of the week
anyone with an aftermarket hood should know what you need...ask gruppe-s what size the bolts are

Today I inquired about the bolts with the company I bought the
hood from (but have not yet received).
I was told that no bolts come with the hood - I just use the stock bolts, but just needed to add some washers.
He sounded like he knew what he was talking about, but I'll with-hold judgment until the hood arrives.
At least I'm now aware of a possible problem.
Thanks guys for the info.

z1 performance knows the correct size....thats what i used ..i just forgot about it
ztom...if your hood already comes with the bolts attached then you can use the stock nuts...otherwise you will have to get the 12mm bolts...

Even though I was told by the distributor that bolts were not included with the CF hood, and that the stock bolts would work (with washers), my hood arrived a couple of days ago WITH bolts.
I have not yet had a chance to test fit the hood, but I assume the
proper bolts were included.
