Looking to see what issus people have had with the TS hood. We got one for my own car, and i am debating whether to keep it and make it fit, or send it back. One of our customers who bought one had the same issue too, so looking to hear only from people who have installed this hood, so I can figure out what to do with my own.
On my car, the hinge does not line up to the factory latch. The lines on the pass side are good, on the drivers side they are way off. Unfortunately (or fortunately, as I happen to love the OEM bracket design), the factory hood latch has no adjustment to it front or back save for a mm or so. So we would have to, at a mnimum, slot the bracket(s) and rely on trial and error.
Overall hood closure - the hood feels very "tense" when you let it rest downwards - like it is hitting something, though on mine, I have not seen it hitting anything yet. We tried fitting it with the covers on and off, and the rear covers for battery and master cylinder on and off and the feel is still the same. We wet down teh strut bar, engine cover, strut towers, etc and let the hood close - lifted the hood up, nothing underneat was wet, so no contact being made, but it just does not feel right. I am quite sure this is directly related to the lines being off on the drivers side.
Overall carbon effect - excellent workmanship on the carbon and underside - looks like a very nicely constructed unit. For me, the quality of the carbon was not really important, as mine would be painted, but for those leaving it "raw", it looks great
So can anyone offer any help? I am hoping we can help Seibon identify the issues more clearly, so future batches do not have this issue.

i just installed mine lastnight. i dont remember if its called a ts? (the one with 6 vents with covers.) i had a HE!! of a time getting it to sit perfect on the car. somewhere around 1-2hrs. im a little upset because the hood WOULD NOT close properly with the covers installed. the covers were the reason i chose this hood! but with the covers off, it was pretty close. i havent had any problems with the latching though? it closes fine, but my hood pins are going on in a few hours just to be safe. the quality of the hood is TOP NOTCH!! i am very impressed with the craftsmenship. but i felt a little hoodwinked on the fitiment.
overall im happy with the hood, and i guess ill live with the hood being open to the elements all the time. (the evo is.) but i wish i had gotten the singal reverse vent instead. thats what i wanted to begin with.
i did try closeing the hood with out the bat/fluid covers under the hood, but it was pushing up in the middle still. with the vent covers off, it fits well. ill get some picks tomarow and post some for you guys to see.

Dee Zee - would you mind posting a pcture for me so I can se how yours looks. most notably, how it sits in relation to the front bumper - my hood seems generally "short"
FYI, someone at SEIBON told me they werent planning on making these hoods anymore due to the problems some of us are having. they would rather not have any bad press. thats why i jumped on one while i could. (id hate to think they told me that just to sell me one?but i dont think so.) i had planned to use hood pins all along so the latch never scared me. i just got lucky i guess. i drove it lastnight, and to work today with no problems. with a little more adjusting, you "should" be able to line it up. (with the vent covers off) im VERY perticular and played with it forever lastnight. but if not i would contact seibon. good luck, and ill get you some pics soon.
i felt the same pressure/resistance you are refering to. but after a while i got it as close to perfect as one can. ther isnt much resisance now. the hood will latch if you just set it down slowly. (1 click) so you have to release it from under the hood. it does take a little presure to close it the second click. so you have to pop it from in the car. did that make sence? its alot like our stock hood feels, just lighter. if you have any more spacific questions, please ask here (not p/m) so everyone will be able to se how we did it. hope i can help. also, talk to bigbadblacktrack he has the same hood.

I spoke to them yesterday and was told the same thing
So on first install, did yours latch or not? Mine will it the first stop, but not go down to the second - even dinged my ARC Ti hood panel at first, though I managed to fix that

let's try to keep this on point....
I am sure none of paid that kind of money for it - as a Seibon dealer, I know i didn't
It's not the point though, I jsut want to know if its possible to fit it, or if I should return it thats all.
FWIW, I have already seen the genuine Hassemi one up close and personal, and needless to say I was not impressed....and that was nearly $1k

The ones sold at the 2k racing or whatever are fake. A seibon dealer came on here and said that.

Mine and Dee Zee are both genuine........hehe thats funny, genuine, whereas its technically a replica itself
basically some of them fit, some did not
Big Black track Attacj ash the same hood on his car, his appears to fit fine
I have one customers who'se did not fit perfectly, but was better than mine. Thisnis what happens I fear on the first go around with parts sometimes - not unheard of and not out of the ordinary. As long as I can get it to work without hacking the car up, I am im

I spent three hours trying to make it fit and it sucks because its such a badd *** looking hood, the reinforcement underneath is off about 1 and half inches...It will not clear the strut bars or the rear battery covers.. I returned mine this morning, but you will have to do a lot of hacking to get it to fit, its a shame, one of the nicest C.F hoods I have ever seen

see mine is not hitting the strut brace, the battery cover, the master cylinder cover. Mine also feels the same with the covers for the vents both on and off, so tells me thats not the issue.
I agree its totally a bad *** hood - I think we are going to try and make it work
