Yeah, my car only has 1000 miles and already have several pin-size chips on the front bumper. I'm getting a clear bra soon. I got quoted about $600 for the full kit (hood, bumper, mirrors and lights). It's clear, from what I hear you have to get pretty close to notice it.

Default worth it

I got my clear bra covering the headlights, bottom 1.5' of the hood, next to the headlight on the fender flares and the entire front bumper and lower lip. it cost $650 from the dealer when i bought my Z. The clear bra takes bugs rocks and gravel like a pro. No chips and you can barely notice it. If your within 1'-5' of the car you can see it. But look at the pic I've attached you really can't tell. It has a life time warrenty so if it malfunctions for some reason the guy who installed it will re do it for free. Mines a 3M material I think. Well worth the money if for some stupid reason I have to sell my car.

I'm getting mine done within the next 2 weeks, and I am trying to set up a group buy with this friend that I know. He's planning to do a lot of clear bra for every known car. let me know if you are interested, I could email you with all the detail information. He's located in Dallas. You could emaill me at vballdallas1@comcast.net.

Won't covering part of paint with a clear bra cause a paint mismatch over time?

Default negative on that

Not sure. Driving around Northern Idaho and Eastern Washington with all the gravel left on the roads from winter I'll take a little un even paint fading over 100's of rock chips. The clear bra is fully waxable though.

Nope. The bra lets UV light through so the paint that's protected will fade the same as everywhere else.

I just turned over 17k and decided to get my front bumper repainted along with my new aero kit. Because I am getting so much done at once, the guy is only charging $300 for the repaint. It would have been $500 by itself. The day I get it back the Z is going on a 10 mile trip to get a clear bra put on. A clear bra should be everyone's first mod!

Doesn't the paint have to cure before the clearbra can be put on?

Yeah......I am waiting about a month before even installing my NISMO bumper so I can have the clear bra installed. Worth the wait to me.

Default Wax or no?

Should the bumper be waxed before the clearbra is installed? Or should all the wax be removed?

All surfaces being clearbra'd has to be sqeaky clean. The installer should do that.
