Default Getting those poppers off the bumper??

QUick question...how did you guys get those poppers off the top of the bumper without breaking them????

I seriously cannot. I pry them up with a flat head. They are in so tight though. I had to take needle nose pliers and pry up literally as hard as I possibly can until the end finally breaks off and it comes out...

Maybe some of you guys have a better idea?

The secret is to pop the centre part up but not all the way (ie as far as it goes). Pull it out by the outside edge, not the centre piece, It'll pop out easily then.

I just help my friend remove his z bumper tonight, it was really easy. After couple minute working on mine last night, I figure out the best method to remove it.
You will have to have one needle nose clamp and a flat wire clamp. First you put the flat clamp on top of the middle circle to push it down, and then clamp the needle nose clamp on to the top screw, after just yank the top screw off while you push down the middle circle. I will try to get a picture tomorrow and show it to you.

apsilon is right, Do not pop it all the way up then pry the whole thing with flat head screw.

here is a close up...

all the flat clamp is doing is holding that clip down, and you use the needle nose clamp to yank the top piece off. Some are stubborn, just got to give a little more force to pull it.

wow... it looks pretty tricky with all those tools on that tiny plastic thing. all i do is use a screwdriver to pop up the center screw and then just lift the center part out a little less than half way and then pull up the base portion. its actually really easy, but hard to explain. all you need is a small screwdriver to pop it out and then using your fingers, just lift it out. hope this helps.

yeah, like some others have said, the mistake i was making was pulling that center part all the way out. get it started with a small screwdriver and pull it out only half way. comes out easily.

i was getting really frustrated until i figured out the trick.

ZISBAK, so you pull the centre piece out completely from the outer piece?

All I do is pop it half way up then pull the whole thing out by the outer edges. I don't even use any tools, just my fingernails.

yes, because mine won't come off when they are attach together. So, the only way to get them out, is to pull them apart. For some reason, some people are having a eaze, but others aren't. So, that's why I came up with that solution, and that way in case if I use screwdriver to pop them, I don't want them to accidentally pop into the engine compartment and get lost somewhere. But I think I will go to dealer at get some new poppers, just so I could replace them.
