Default Anyone remove side top pieces on rear strut bar?

Sorry search engine isn't working

I want to take off black top pieces on sides of rear strut brace in trunk and wrap in leather to match seats and door handles but installer doesn't want to be the one to take them off. He says it looks like they are snap/clip ons but he doesn't want to be resposible for any breakage. Anyone taken these off?
Thanks Lauri

they are snap on, but very pain in the A$$! Once you have taken it off, it just doesn't fit like it should before!

They are snap on and very easy to take off and back on...just pry it up and use a panel popper or a flathead screwdriver
