I have the fiberglass v1 on a chrome silver. Before it got painted I test fit it to see how it looked. When taking it off, I must not have been careful enough and cracked the driver side of it where it wraps around the lower part of the bumper. The crack is verticle and about 1/4 or so of an inch. I showed the body shop that did the paint work, the siad they could fix it before paint, and I paid them to repair it before painting. It all looked good when I picked up the pieces yesterday. They repaired it from the inside, which I think was not good because it even made the fit tighter than it already was. Anyway, it went on well and looked great, until the crack just popped back into being. I think the pull on the lip (extra stess) must have pulled the repair apart.
I hope there is a way a shop can fix this while the lip is on the car. I'm thinking that they could bondo it or whatever on the outside, then sand and repaint the area of the lip while its on my car. Does anyone know if this can be done? Thanks.

I'm glad you have the urethane version BAT, but that does not mean **** to me. Maybe you missed the question, does anyone know if there is something a body/paint shop can do to fix it?

The crack should be ground out and cleaned thoroughly. Mix up the two part epoxy (fiberglass repair) and apply to the crack like you would bondo. I have used Marine Tex in the past with good results. It can then be sanded, primered and painted while its on the car. Its better to do the repair on the car while the part is already in a stressed condition. If you repair it off the car and put it back on it will crack there again or in a near by spot.

Thanks for your response Z327. It makes me feel a lot better to know that it can be done. I was planning on having them repair it while it was on the car for the same reaon you mentioned.
Jason, I know what you mean on cost to repair fiberglass. However, I don't plan on being charged for this repair because I literally just paid them yesterday for the repair to the front lip, and to paint the rest of the V1 kit with the data system rear spoiler. The lip went on fine and held without cracking for like 10 minutes. The way I see it, their 1st attempt to repair the crack did not work real well.
