does anyone hear a distinct noise from the engine when you let go of the clutch and when you step on the clutch the sound will go away... my friend told me thats how alot of cars are but i dont think so.... please let me know if anyone else has this same problem or how i can go about fixing it.... thank you...

 

Do you mean while the car is in neutral? If so, it is normal for the Z. It is the transmission I believe.

i've had this since day 1... and every Z i've heard (close to 20) makes the same noise... ppl who say they dont' have it aren't listening closely (or is extremely lucky?)

 

More audible when in your garage.
