I got bat's complete headlight overlay, but I'm having trouble installing it. When I finished, it looked really hazy underneath. Is this normal? Then I turned on the headlights to see the outcome. After about 10 minutes I turned them off and when I inspected the overlays, several clusters of mini bubbles appeared. Also, there is a noticeable "seam" that appears when the two pieces overlap in the center. I just went over the excess with an X-acto... Is that the right thing to do?

I'm not so sure about that haze, but I'd imagine it will go away soon. Just let your car sit out in the sun for a few days. DO NOT attempt to burst those bubbles with a blade, if you're going to do that, use a fine needle. But I don't think you will need to. Just give your car a few days in the sun, the bubbles should all be gone by then.

Just don't make the same mistake and slice up those bubbles in the tint with a razor like I did. Now i have all kinds of cuts that are pretty noticeable... might have to order another pair.

 

The main reason foir the haze is that there is moisture trapped underneath the overlay. The heat from the headlamp cause the trapped moisture to bubble. Make sure when applying the Overlay that you work all the moisture from the middle out. Finish it off with a squeegy. I can do another set at discount to you. Email me.

You don't think the moisture would just dissapear over time?

 

It could if there are any openings in the Overlay. Simple air bubbles can be deleted by simply taking a needle and popping them, then flattening area with your finger.

I see... reason I ask is because when I put on Performance's overlays, I had a severe amount of bubbles on my tint. I sliced most of them with a razor, thinking I wouldn't notice the slits anyways. The bubbles still stayed there after I sliced them.

But when I woke up the next morning, the bubbles that were sliced, INCLUDING the ones that weren't were completely gone. I also had a tiny bit of moisture stuck under the overlays. Of course, performance uses a thicker material, but I'm thinking that moisture might just go away over time like mine did.

I'm considering making a switch to your overlays simply because Performance Nissan's are too dark for me at night time and just to get rid of the slices. Plus I don't want to pay $60 for another set of those.

 

As long as there are any openings in the Overlay, moisture can escape. Hit me up if you want a set. I offer 2 Tints, standard 6/10 and a lighter 3/10 tint.
