Default Caution on US NISMO Wing

Just a word of caution if you are going to install the US NISMO rear wing and own a Z with the factory rear spoiler. Depending on how careful the original factory install was done, you may find it difficult to locate the new wing without old mounting holes showing. Apparently my OEM spoiler was mounted back too far on the hatch and made lining up the wing a little tricky. The body shop mounted the wing as far back as possible but you can still see 2 very tiny slivers of tape used to cover the rear OEM holes.

The installer (Wet Works in Stanton, CA.) did an awesome job to deal with the problem and the wing itself is very high quality. So, if you've got the OEM spoiler, choose your installer wisely. I'll try to post a photo soon.

Drj,
The best thing to have done is to get the body shop to weld the old holes and repaint. But Yea I have seen this same problem on other Z's. I would think about getting the body shop to weld the holes if you can. That tape won’t last forever and you will start to get water inside the holes

Stronger gas shocks to hold the extra weight...

These can be used for any car using any wing that adds weight to the rear wing....

Jason, any pics of these stronger gas shocks installed on a Z? And are they necessary in your opinion? Does the new U.S. spec NISMO rear wing weigh more or less than the fiberglass J-spec one? And do you recommend removing the weight out of the rear deck lid when installing the NISMO wing. Pic attached:
