Default Nissan 350z Lambroghini style vertical door kit

Hi folks.
I am new to this forums.
I personally need your opinon about lambo door kit for 350z.
I went to local shop in lafayette IN and i found out they have lambo door kit in stock and they are willing to set up a group buy if i can find 5 ppl.
They said it's not for our car but you can customize it with drilling one or two holes on hinge.
They told me it is really easy to install it and quote me for $850.
Is that good price?
Should i get it?
has anyone tried lambo door on Z?
Thanks for your info.

Yes, very new. Try doing a search on this forum for the lambo doors. There are plenty of people now that have had it done. And if it's not for your car then it's not. Period.

Cool.. but one for our car cost is more than 1200 isn't it?
I searched on ebay too but lowest price i can find is 1200 plus 150 shipping charges and they require minor work.
The guy told me it's $850 and minor work to install.
Is there anybody done a customize lambo door?

I bought a kit made specifically for the Z from vertical doors and i paid 1100. I did the work myself and it seems like 850 is waaaay to low for all the work that is involved , especially if the kit isnt already fit for the 350Z. Also it seems even lower if 850 includes the price for the hinge itself.

I would be VERY leary of this deal. This kit (even the one that is supposedly made CUSTOM for our car) is VERY hard to install. It takes roughly 20 hours of labor. I paid $1150 for mine and this was a VERY good price we got in a group buy.

Expect labor alone to be around $1000 if you have someone do it for you. The hinges should be painted to match your car (unless they are black and you have a black car).

Just a word of warning for you.

Watch for my up and coming thread for my Lambo door unveiling soon...............

just a heads up, I know a guy in town that has the lambo doors, not sure which brand. They are not worth the money. The hinge mechanism is crap. You have to push the door out before you can lift the door up. The reason for this is that there is a pin that needs to clear that hinge, well the pin is grinding on the hinge everytime you open the door. It will fail!!!>

I'm an older fart. Used to work for DeLorean in 1981 or so taking the cars apart and rebuilding them because they were put together like crap in Ireland. Even well set and aligned, the gullwing doors would pop open on rough roads and on the GW bridge and expansion strips they flew open wide. Crap cars. Which brings me to my point. Safety of the doors on impact. Any testing done??

I went to shop yesterday to look at the kit.
It wa exactly same as anyother door kit on the website.
I took a picture if anyone want to see it.
They told me they are going to install one on eclipse this weekend. I might be there and watch how hard it is.
I will let you guys know about install.
