Can anybody comment on the $1300 price? Is that good? Bad?

And what kind of quality are we expecting here.. will this be equal to (or better) than the factory paint?

Just curious as repainting my Z has crossed my mind several times.

Preparation is key to a good paint job. They will need to sand the entire car and mask everything off. A good paint job runs $2500 or more.

yeah, i think rayden who has the lambo orange paid more around 4 or 5 for his paint job. I could be way off, but that is the price that i remember

guru_ck is right. I think $1300 is too cheap, just bodykit alone will cost you around that much or more.

it depends what kind of hookup you have.

i can get my entire car painted including pulling the motor/painting the engine bay/door jams/etc ... for ~$1000.

if you're just joe schmoe walking into a body shop, expect to pay 4-5k++ for this. 2-3k for just painting the "outside" of the car.

edit. painting is cheap and it's not that hard of work. you just need to find somebody that isn't going to rape you on the work. find friends that are painters or people that work at a bodyshop and do paintwork on the side.

i just got my car back today from my painter ... paid him $200 + a $50 tip for doing the paint my bumper, fenders, side skirts, and blended onto the doors. He had to do a bit of body work to patch up the superficial cracks and blemishes from the tire that hit me. He originally only asked for $175. But after doing the extra body work i gave him some more, you gotta keep these guys happy
