Default anybody with a G35 wing on a Z

Just got my wing for my Z and after sitting it on the rear trunk the sides dont look like they will sit flush on the car. the bottom of the wing (bolt holes) are about 1" from the top of the trunk. I am looking for a pic or asking anybody that has this set up where the wing should be sitting at? because I am thinking I am trying to mount in to far back because if I sit it allmost half way up the trunk it will sit flush but then the wing doesnt hang off the rear.

anybody?

Default are u calling me.................

i have a g35 wing on c..s. z, it looks nice to me, and eveyone that has seen my ride likes it. the wing should b flush with your trunk, use the nissan logo to use as centerpiece for the wing, on the g35 u need to count the number of lights on the wing that will help u center it with the nissan badge pm if not sure, i can send pics if u want.

Its not the center I am worryed about its the sides not sitting flush that is why I think I might be trying to mount it to far back because the closer it is to the rear window the nicer it site.

I would love to see some pics of how far back from the end of the trunk you mounted it. tpumped@comcast.net

thanks

See those pics the bottom of the wing looks curved to match the trunk but the wing I got is pretty much stright acorss on the bottom to the sides dont lay flush with the car.

was yours curved like that before install or did it end up fitting right after install?

Here are a couple of pics of mine. According to the guy that installed it, they had to do quite a bit of sanding to get it fit right. Good luck.

Default Same issue with G35 Wing

Hi,
I'm also in the same situation as "Pumped". My G35 wing showed up yesterday and it doesn't fit. I just read the comment about a lot of sanding. Can anyone comment on what actually needed to be done? I'd appreciate any help or pics showing the seem in more detail at the edges of the wing and the rear hatch.

I can't really give an exact cost because I had other things done at the same time. The wing did come painted so the only labor was the sanding and the install. Sorry.

I assume you are talking about the picture in my signature, because my car was really dirty in the other pictures (just came off the truck from CA). As far as the drop I have about a 3 inch clearance with Eibach Springs and Tokico struts. 1 speed bump can ruin my whole day!

Sorry. I know, I feel pretty bad since that was the first one (Vizage) in this country, but it was a little too extreme for me. The funny thing is I had a Balsarini before the Vizage so this is my third one. BTW Vizage has another new one coming out that they want me to install on my car, but I kind of like this one, especially with the extra brake light!

You're in luck as the shop that did my wing is located close to LA in Stanton. Contact Joe at Wet Works Garage (714-890-5117) and he should be able to help you out. Their prices are very reasonable and their work is top notch.

you guys are getting OEM wings for the G35, and wondering why they don't fit the Z right out of the box? You know the G has a different rear end that we do, right?

I would take it to a reputable body shop, because you want all the prep work to be done perfect. If done right, you could probabally install that wing with just tape, if you don't want to drill into the hatch for bolt holes.

It looks awesome!
