Default signature sizes need a limit

some signatures take up so much space. especially the ones with huge pictures and it's even more annoying when they are just stock pictures.

the text also gets carried away sometimes

You can change your settings so that sigs are not viewable also...

Go to Edit Options from the Control Panel, and then find the Thread View Options. Go to "Show user's signatures in their posts?" and select No.

Just FYI

That is NOT the solution. I like seeing useful signatures, but I hate seeing useless or excessively large signatures. So turning them off or on doesn't work. I started another thread on this topic awhile back here:

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....hreadid=103406

We don't neccessarily need strict rules, but some members have gotten out of hand, and it would be nice to bring them back in.

I made mine much shorter than it was. Some signatures are very long that are vertical lists. Also, i like seeing pictures but some of them are way too big. I think yobri has the right solution though. If it bothers you that much then its a simple fix. They dont bother me enough to do anything about it.

i dont want to be rid of pics altogether. along with avatars, the sigs help me recognize the users more easily.

i just do not like it when a user's post is one line but their signature takes up 50 lines.

i appreciate what ttsupra did to shorten his sig, i dont remember what it was before but that looks great.

however i know how bad it could be to limit the signature dimensions drastically. this was done on another forum i am a member of and that actually made me a little mad. notice i said drastically though.

i still think signature dimension limits would be a positive thing.

thanks for tuning in :P

Good post, Yorbi. I did not realize I could zap the sigs.

Done & thanks.

Wow! Just reread this thread without sigs. Much, much better!

Yorbi for "Member of the Year"! LOL!

Yes, some of the posts on this board are ridiculously huge. And when the person posts multiple times in the same thread, it can take forever to sift through the ******** to read what I actually want to.

Turning off sigs is NOT an option. Smaller sigs make things neater, easier to view and read, and save on bandwidth for the site. Plus, like stated before, sig pics help to identify members and I also like to see mods in the sigs, because if someone has a particular mod I'm interested in purchasing, I can ask that person for an opinion on how the person is, where they got it, etc.
