Angry What the **** is so hard about posting in the correct forum, NOOBS!!

Just finished browsing the 350Z General forum. I counted 14 moved threads on the first page alone. I'm seriously getting fed up with all the damn kids coming on here just posting away the second they register on the forum, not bothering to: a. search b. take 15 freakin minutes to take a look around and figure out where to post your stupid *** moronic questions.

I honestly think there should be a 30 day period from the time you register, till the time you are allowed to make your first post. I'm fed up!!

Who's with me here?

a 30 days "read only" period would be good. It would also get rid of a lot of trolls since they couldn't just come on and start posting they would lose intrest and just leave.

Werd... When I first registered, I read for a while before I posted anything... it took me forever to start a thread of my own IIRC

hmm, I've been thinking about doing this for awhile now..

It would weed out a few of the random bs posts we get..

30 days is a little extreme, I think a week would suffice.

30 days would give the NeWbS enough time to answer their own questions by lurking and searching. Prior to 30 days a NeWb wouldn't have anything worth while to contribute to the forum anyway

I agree with this wholeheartedly, seven days would be the happy medium...

I suppose 7 days would be good enough. Hell, even if we made it 24 hours, I bet we'd see a huge improvement in the forum.

It's not just noobs, I regularly move posts by people who have been on this board for years and start every new post in the General 350Z forum. Apparently, the structure of the forums is lost on a lot of people.

The ones that really get me are those who post in the wrong forum, acknowledge that fact in their post, followed by the reasoning "this forum gets more traffic than the one it's supposed to be in". Apparently they think we ought to do away with all the other forums and just post everything in one huge all-incompassing forum.

I say we implement a 7 to 10 day waiting period.

I'm all for 10. A week is just too little, while a month is overkill.

This "read only" period is one of the best ideas I've heard on this site.
