Thumbs down The Ignore Button

Can it be modified to actually ignore users rather than "hide" their posts where they are still visible. Not to mention their threads still show in the thread list. We are always told to ignore annoying members and people we feel are spamming threads, but the ignore feature is not effective.

Perhaps we could give that top secret little admin functionality that REALLY puts people on ignore to the Premium Members? That would be an awesome perk to buying a PM.

(P.S. Add a search function to the Private Message box for sponsors and PMs)

It's like giving us the power to ban people as a community decided effort.

Edit: I realize there could be some technical problems with this, but I'm just curious if it can be done.

As far as I know, it can't be modified. It's either turned on as-is or off. Unless the vBulletin gets a nice little update with new features for the ignore function, this will probably never happen. Same goes for ignoring mods and admins, which you don't really want anyway (your loss; you get warned/banned for a reason).

The best thing in life would be this.. I would love to ignore only certain admin/mods.. Not like they dont have a bunch of mods who wont be on ignore. Also just dont disable the PMs, so if there is a prob they just PM you..

+1 to this.

There is a select member that was absent this weekend and the forums were great. Now that hes back he is spamming it again....His stupid threads still pop up! Id like to ignore a few vendors too........you know the ones that bump every FS thread they have at once so you click "new post" and over half the threads are fs threads.

Jayz probably cant read this......o the irony of the thread.

Again, ignoring mods/admins aren't happening (it was developed that way for a reason). Plus, none of us staff members are going to wait to warn you until another mod/admin can reach you when you violate the TOU (if anything, we'd just override it anyway).

That's considered spamming or posting useless things. Just report them or send a link to the appropriate mod/admin. They should be able to take care of that for you. Nobody likes to reading BS posts.

Honestly, these functions you guys are dreaming of do not exist, as mentioned already, and I highly doubt vBulletin developers will incorporate these features into their new updates. Please, take note of this: vBulletin developers (not my350z admins and not IB). Sorry to burst your bubbles.
