hey guys.. so i tried using the mobile version today. m.my350z.com

which brought up the default page.

i clicked on "nissan 350z forums" also on " nissan 370z forums" "photo & media share" "regional clubs & forums" "vendor marketplace " "private classifieds"

which gave me this screen

but if i choose "discussion forum index" it'll lead to the mobile viewer

We use Tapatalk on Boosted. Its much better than the mobile software you guys are running right now at m.my350z.com. Faster, and has many options the standard site has using a PC. When we first adopted it, it was kinda of clunky, but as the updates keep being posted...functionality and quickness have been increased tremendously.

+1 Drop the avatars and squeeze the left side column down a bunch and let the post content take the majority of the space.

Another issue to report

I tried going back to normal mode. Which it wouldn't let me, regardless of how many times I tried. I even closed the window and reopened one and just using my350z.com trying to avoid the mobile version. I had to delete my history and cookies/chache to access normal mode

when browsing a section I would like to see who the last reply was from. half of what I read is because I know the poster and want to see what they posted.

would like to see the avatars disabled in m.my350z.com as well, not enough room for them

thanks for getting this implemented. worlds better then browsing normally on the cell.

All you have to do is logout and log back in

I'm looking at the site in both mobile and STD modes right now in 2 separate windows

Well it still needs to be fixed since there is a "normal" option.. There shouldn't be a need for me to log out and log back in.

the mobile interface looks good on my blackberry browser however...the BB browser is slow and sucks and I much rather use Opera Mini which is also available for all kinds of other phones. When I try and visit the mobile site on opera mini I am redirected to the main site. Can this be fixed please?

I haven't read through all the posts ..
Do you have to re-register to use the mobile site? I tried logging in (via my cell), but it keeps bringing me back to the login page.

Oh .. I'm posting this from my desktop via the "regular" website ..

This is unfortunately an opera issue. opera does not identify itself as a mobile browser, and so therefore we can't display the mobile site to it. I'm sorry.

We're working on the avatars now.

I would recommend having the mobile version identify iphones and use iAd for instead of google ads for those phones. traditional google ads take longer to load and if my clumsy thumb accidentally hits the ad, I am redirected to another page which is a huge hassle on a mobile browser. iAd loads the advertisements in the session which makes it easier to view the ad and then return to the forum.

All of this is great and it is a huge improvement, but a mobile version of the website will always be limited. Since tapatalk is not being considered, you might consider creating your own native app for the different mobile phones.

A native app is definitely in the works, but we're still a couple/few months away from seeing that in your hands.

thanks for the feedback everyone. we will do what we can to accommodate it.

cheers,
robb
