Should We Have An "Ask the Question" Thread?

I don't frequent too many forums outside of this one but if there was a close 2nd to my350z.com, it would be cherokeeforum.com. Anyhow, they have an "Ask the Question" thread in which anyone can ask anything about their Jeep Cherokee woes and usually get a response within minutes. Like the Cherokee, the 350Z is now a name of the past so the use for stickies is far and few between and it seems (to me) that a universal "ask a question" thread would greatly reduce the amount of dumb/repetitive threads started, closed and/or merged. Just a thought.
If they knew about the question thread, then they would know that they need to just search and find anything they would ever need!
There will always be stupid/ repetitive threads. Just a fact of life.

Sounds like something for NOOBS who are too damn lazy and/or stupid to search for the answers themselves. Fawk that. Why facilitate and reward that kind of behavior?
The sticky threads haven't lost relevancy, value, or usefulness either just because the 350Z/G35 are no longer in production. Where's the logic in that??? Many of the stickies in the tech sections are unlocked and can be updated with new or useful information.
I also doubt that a catch all "Ask the Question" thread will significantly reduce the number of redundant question threads that get started by dumb asses who FAIL to notice or read through the sticky threads on the top of the SAME page (which often contain the answers they seek) ...or by idiots who post threads in the wrong section.

Maybe a "what bumper/hood/side skirt/body panel is this?" in the interior/exterior section. Some one always posts "who makes this?" with a picture of a car. It gets annoying when you have a couple threads asking the same thing only with pictures.
It would also be nice so people can look through the thread for pictures of different kits instead of asking for a picture of a certain kit(pic request).

More often then not you get a much more thorough answer to your question when you research it and learn all aspects of what you are attempting to understand rather then just one persons view of said topic.

Still, I can see why some would advocate for a thread like the one OP's talking about. Assuming the correct response is provided within a short amount of time, it would definitely save some time having to sift through other irrelevant things.
