Default power tripping mods

I have been a member on here for quit a few years. Sold many, many, items and bought many. So last night I made a post to sell a clutch and low and behold I forgot to add my picture with my name and date on it. Now I am by far not a noob, and I just had another setup listed for sale and approved probably by the same mod. But I just get on to see I have received an infraction instead of just being told to add the picture with my name and date on it. Seriously had I just became a member a week ago I could understand this. Was a simple error and could of easily been fixed. But since the approval has been instituted we are unable to see our threads until after they are approved. Had I seen this when making the post I would of fixed right away. I would of fixed right away had I even been told. If this is how this forum is going to be run, its a no wonder so many wonderful people who used to post here have left.

You have the option to preview your post before submitting, remember? Same thing happened to me....TWICE, but I don't eff it up anymore! Take it with a grain of salt, at least they're not making threads complaining about you........

I'm sorry you're not satisfied with the way the Moderators handle the threads that do not meet our posting requirement. However, you must understand that the rule is in place in order to ensure all members can have a smooth transaction amongst each other without issues, including scamming. That's why the approval system was implemented in the first place.

As for the Mod issuing an infraction, rather than a PM, they're only doing their job and doing so without favoritism. We've had this verification picture rule longer than we had the approval system and have always enforced it strictly for obvious and aforementioned reasons. In fact, it has been years since the implementation and it was actually plastered at the top of every page on our forums in larger, red text up until recently. If anything, it's the new members who should be asking for leniency since the older members should already be familiar with our rules/TOU by now.

At any rate, please don't take what the Mods are doing offensively or personally, as they're only doing what is necessary to fulfill their duties as Moderators.

On a side note, I really wish people would stop throwing out the phrase "power tripping" solely because they're unhappy with something. Clearly, this is not an example of power tripping and is quite the opposite. I can demonstrate with an example of "power tripping," if you'd prefer, but I don't want a thread about me.

the effort it takes to issue the infraction upon someone could of just been used to say hey was this an accident or did you just do it not caring. as stated above i had just listed something else a few days before with no problem and probably approved by the same mod. its not a matter of showing favortism i have had my fair share of suspension from the forums to know i am not shown any favortism. geez someone of us are not scam artist, and it sucks we have to pay for the ones who are. especially being i am someone who was scammed on before by ole kayfunk or whatever his name was. Also funny I did not mention anyones names. If people want to scam they are gonna scam, i have never been anything but an honest seller.

For the record, you only received a "warning".

You're only looking at things from your point of view and taking a defensive stance on this issue. Try to look at it more objectively and at the big picture with all members involved.

Regardless of what you think should happen, Mods aren't going to sit there and PM every single member asking if not meeting the requirement was a mistake. And you certainly shouldn't expect them to remember all the threads they saw and approved, especially since all Mods (and Admins) handle the Marketplace approvals. You forgetting the verification picture inadvertently or not, simply and bluntly put, is your fault and your problem.

You're expecting to be treated because ______. Regardless of your reasons, Mods should and will carry on with duties as they have been. What you are asking for is to be treated differently, so that is favoritism. As you said, it sucks that "you" have to pay for the scammers, but that's better than us taking a chance on a potential scammer. Hell, I'm bound by the same rules and I'm an admin here.

You also keep saying it was the same Mod who approved multiple threads of yours but that's probably not likely and even if it was, it doesn't change anything. And, nobody said you mentioned any names so I have no idea why you even find that funny, but I'm really tempted to give you that bunny with pancake on its head. As stated above, you only received a warning which has no ill effects on you or anybody. Try to keep in mind that it was a warning, not an infraction as well.

TL;DR-
Mods aren't there to hold your hands so deal with it.

this is the reason I stopped selling all my parts on here, just easier to post them on a competitor site.

Markymark, anyone who's been here for a while knows what a great seller you are. Sorting through all the 4sale things for approval is tedious and honestly not that much fun. Honestly, I try to get through it quick if I can. When it comes to our Marketplace rules, and the approval system, most of us have a process and method that doesn't really make sending a pm to someone a very workable option. Because then we'd have to do it for everyone. Which slows that process place down.
I know you know the process by now, as I've seen many of your for sale threads. This might have been an accident on your part, no big deal. You were given a warning, which reflects the acknowledgement on our side that you probably weren't doing it on purpose, but serves as a reminder about the rules we have in place.

Dude, you've always been pretty level headed man, so why are you letting this bother you so much? Take it for whats its worth and keep driving on.

How odd you would say that when the things we've done have been for the protection of our userbase. Quite simply, we don't have to do this ****. We care enough about our members here to put in our time to at least attempt to keep this place safer for both sides. Your welcome..

I'm sorry to hear you don't like the system we've put in place. I'm not going to try to change your mind, because that's your prerogative and frankly, I don't really care. However, let me remind you that we at My350Z.com value our members to put various systems in place for added protection and will always choose that route over "ease of posting."

Off-topic, but I just realized after reading Nuki's post that "kramykram" is "markymark" written sort of backwards. It took me years to notice that, wtf, and I've even done business with this guy before.

WTF, and I just realized "kramykram" IS "markymark" backwards, not "sort of backwards" like I said above.

I got an infraction for posting a "WTB 350z" in the "Cars for Sale" classified. The reason for my infraction was because I didn't post in the "WANT TO BUY THREAD". Lo and behold that thread didn't exist until I pointed it out to a mod...
