Default Hey, Moderators, how about waiting BEFORE moving threads to a sub-forum?

This thread about the WOT box died in a sub-forum:

https://my350z.com/forum/maintenance-...itch-help.html

So, the OP started a new thread with the same question.

https://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-...s-wot-box.html

It also got moved before getting an answer to his question.

How about waiting a reasonable time (say two weeks) before moving a thread to a sub-forum? All too often the move is a kiss of death, and the question never gets answered.

So, OP...you want threads posted in the incorrect forum to not be sent to the correct sub-forum because folk won't answer the topic? Hmmm.

Let's just post everything in the front page of off topic and hope folk find it. Brilliant.

(Never mind).

No, I want a new thread to have a chance to be seen by more people who might have an answer to the question before being hidden in a sub-forum where no one looks at it.

I've seen way too many interesting threads die right after being moved and before they get a good answer.

BadBlu-Z's first thread was put in the sub-forum almost immediately after he posted it on February 16, and he still doesn't have an answer. His second thread went into the same sub-forum with the same result so far.

Obviously that's not working very well, so let's try something else.

Good comment...in a related topic,I'm not too keen of the "revised" format of the
forum. To be sure, more glitz etc.It runs much SLOWER on my system.Takes forever
to scroll down.Anyone else having this problem?Possibly its all the ads/graphics that
is making the thing slow?

Threads have a better chance of getting a knowledgeable and appropriate answer in the proper forum. Sorry to say it, but the general forum usually draws trolls and less than usefull responses to questions.

Plus, a lot of times the question has already been asked and answered in the appropriate forum. If the original posters would search the correct place to start, chances are they would have found the answer and not even need to create their own new thread.

I'm going to say "No."

Learn to use the "search" function and research it or bump an old thread that talks about the same topic.

Using the search function on this forum is a joke. All you get is a list of hundreds of threads that include the search terms, but you can read through them for hours without finding anything relating to your issue.

There are so many useless old threads here it's pathetic. Maybe the moderators time would be better spent reviewing and deleting old threads that have no value whatsoever instead of moving threads around and telling people to search all the time.

Original thread has been merged with the new thread in the Engine/Drivetrain forum, hopefully that will unrustle your jimmies OP!

The search function has been more than capable for me for the 5+ years I have spent on the forum

I've found that the best way to search any forum is to go to Google and search "site:my350z.com (enter keywords here.)"

I agree with the mods, I seriously doubt someone could ask a new question that nobody else has thought of in the 10 years since the release of the 350Z.
