The Mass air flow of each brand of turbocharger (therefore the Horsepower possible) depends on how much boost pressure you're prepared to run, the APS/Garrett ball bearing turbos are very efficient up to 25 PSI turbo pressure.

I know which turbocharger brand I'd feel safer running at high boost pressure, this is the real advantage of the water cooled Garret dual ball bearing system, the APS/Garret turbo charger bearing strength is far stronger than sleeve type bearings and can easily cope with very high boost pressure without bearing or thrust bearing failure.

That's only one of the reasons why APS/Garret dual ball bearing turbos are much more expensive than conventional sleeve bearing turbochargers, high mass air flow with bullett proof bearing strength.

Thanks

Peter

Nice right up. I think you left out some major parts, example the big difference of the watercooled ballbearing APS turbos are, compared to the greddys.

Old thread, but the OP link is dead. Does anyone have it to share, or something similar?

I bet Sharif would like to read this quote on the GT-R....lol. I bet he's probably changed his tune.

I still would take the GT-R over anything Z FI'd. Negotiating on a titanium GT-R now.

Good choice. That's one of the 3 colors I'm painting my Z. That being my top choice.

After seeing it in person i was in awe. My top colors went from red, white, gun metal gray to titanium, gun metal grey. Only 129 titaniums were sold in the us. The color was discontinued due to lack of sales. However, its become a favorite among the GT-R crowd from my research.
