Power Enter Tubos Lean condition?
I have a 350 with Power Enterprise twin turbos. Also Boost cont. I have built many motorcycle engines with NOS, Turbos and so on. But with cars I'm new.
My question is this.
I think this thing is creating a lean condition around 5.5. Boost is set at .4 because I was told after, the 350 can only handle 420 before the stock internals pop. The kit comes with injectors, fuel pump but uses the stock ICU as I'm sure you all know.
I have ridden high performance motorcycles for over 25yrs and have heard this noise many times before. It almost sounds like a high pitch rattle at high sustained RPM. To me it sounds like a lean condition.
So, I say to Power hey this thing is lean. So they check it out with their equipment and say no the mixture is perfect. But not on a dyno. With us, we always use a dyno and develop a map for the riders area, preferences and so on. They told me that it must be the heat shield rattling.
Is their anybody out their that has Power turbos that had the same problem? And if so what did you do?
By the way the best thing I ever bought for the 350 BY FAR is the Kaas 2 way LSD and it was one of the cheapest parts. You can drive sideways drinking your coffee.

I think the problem is that in So Cal, you are running 91 octane fuel. Second, the basic PE kit doesnt come with an ECU reflash or any provisions for retarding timing. So that sound you are hearing is detonation...even at a low boost level. Get it addressed right away....your engine will blow up shortly if you dont.
Yeah....
XS Engineering
SP Engineering
Dynamic Autosports
Signal Auto
In no particular order...call around....they are all very good and well known shops, but prices may vary.
Also, they really wont be able to tune much with the stock ECU, since I dont think they have the techtom tool that TS uses to do their reflash. So you might want to talk to TS directly for tuning....or switch to an eManage or some other tuning platform.
