Default Poll on population of FI cars

OK, I am bored and started to wonder about the blown motors and their manufacture date. I saw on a Nissan parts website that the block for a car built prior to 09/02 is more than one built after, not sure the reason but it got me wandering if there is physical difference.

So here goes a poll, I know the population of 09/02 and prior is small and the FI in that will be even smaller but humor me.

You are talking about running with stock internals right? I have to check on my car. Where do I check it at?

Yes stock internals. I know there are more variables like tuning and boost being run but Ifigured this might be interesting.

You can get the info from a sticker on the door frame of the driver's side. Open the door and to the right side there is a white rectangular sticker with the vehicle info, the first line is date, mine says 07/02.

How much more? Also, what is the URL for the parts website?

TIA

There is a 300.00 difference in list price and 225.00 in the sale price, which is about a 25% increase.

it probably just has to do with the rarity of the block. less supply means higher prices. just my innocent speculation.

That makes since if it was a used market but these are new prices so why the difference.

Also it would make since if there was a reason for them to be different so that is what has me puzzled what is the difference? Why differentiate the pre and post 09/02 blocks and not just offer one block for all.

Interesting poll, but its skewed towards the "after 9/02 build date". However, it will also give us a good idea of the number/percentage of blown motors that are at least part of this site.

I figured that being that the prio to 09/02 is a very small population but I was looking at percentages, which if we get some more votes in it might be helpful, but as it looks now there doesn't seem to be much of a difference.
