Turbo insulator blankets
Has anyone seen turbo heat insulator blankets for the greddy or APS size turbo's? I have only seen them for Supra's and I know Turbonetics uses one on their single turbo kit. Anybody seen a source for these??

Talk to Kean from BoostLogic (javeman on this board). I'll bet he could get some made. He provides them for the larger singles used by Supra owners. Seems like a good idea to use them, especially given the turbos' close proximity to the transmission as well as some fuel lines, etc.

Oh man...i cant remember the name of the company that makes these....but they make them for all sizes and style of turbos. Very neat little pieces, and I will likely pic some up during my buildup. they really keep the heat where you want it....inside the manifold and turbo housing.....and they also keep underhood temps down. These shields are a good idea, in addition to heat treating the hot parts.

Z1 and allzuhair posted links to the thermal blanket type designs. THere are also metal pre molded heatsheilds that are even better.......wonder if someone has a link to those.

Another option, is to get your manis, impeller housings and downpipes ceramic coated. There are several places you can use.

Like gq said the preformed type is what I am trying to find.

Typically the impeller housings are very easy to remove , send of for coating and re-assembly. This "plus" the shields giv tyou a double whammy.

My only concern is the powder coaters being able to keep the coating out of the critical tolerance areas when the do their process.
