Well first off I want to introduce myself here, been a long time reader once in a blue moon poster. My project is about to take off. I have purchased a used vortech kit, I got Zimbos Kit 3rd hand from my friend Josh in tampa he is a member here. I have the intercooler piping wrapped up and being sent out to be ceramic coated. The intercooler has been painted flat black for the undercover look. Well let me get to the goods, I have a s-trim version 1 supercharger from vortech here(the noisey one) it is a ccw rotation as the one that comes with the standard kit. Tonight in the garage I tried to remove the pulleys from the jackshaft but i damaged the serp pulley. I am going to be powdercoating the bracket and misc peices.
Question 1- best way to remove the pulleys from the jackshaft?
Question 2- I am looking at fuel solutions, I like what Phunk is doing and holding off until I see his kit completed, any other suggestions? APS fuel system perhaps?
Question 3- on vortechs site they have the calculator for impeller speed but mine has a different step up ratio being a version 1.
Question 4-as far as the serp belt goes it seems the general step is to go with the gates belt, I am being lazy here but what length to use with the 3.33 and with the 3.13 pulley.
I like to pull 420 to 450 on the stock motor so I can have fun until I finish building my spare motor.
Current mods on the car are,
1-Nismo cat back
2-Dc S/S headers
3-Grounding Kit
4-Pop charger that i am going to remount and reuse
On order or soon to be on order
1-Crawford Intake
2-Test Pipes
3-Wide Band 02, I already have a slew of supporting gauges in the car boost/fuel pressure/oil temp
4-J/w oil pan spacer for insurance
Thanks Guys and help be great

[1] put the smaller 3.12 serp pulley on before the install of the SC
[2] Phunks fuel system , Im sure will be complete and very good....AAM 's fuel system is or will be a complete system soon [ thats what I have ] . I think there may be 1 or 2 others
[3] I think Vortech has a calculator for the V1 . You just have to put in crank pulley size , serp pulley , jackshaft pulley . and blower pulley
[4] Gates 93.5 inch pulley...dont have part # right now
Let us know how much boost you get out of the V1
Good Luck...Bill

best way to remove pulleys from jackshaft:
I used an impact wrench to remove the mounting bolts, then a pulley puller to get the pulleys off, and a allen wrench on a jack handle breaker bar to get the jackshaft off the bracket.

Curious...what possible benefit does having the intercooler piping ceramic coated give you? These pipes aren't subject to a tremendous amount of heat since they sit in front of the engine and aren't anywhere in the exhaust path. Any gains from isolating the air flowing through these pipes from under-hood heat must be miniscule, or so I would think. Can you explain?
Thanks.
Thanks.

kcobean,
To be honest the main reason for the ceramic coating is cosmetic, I was going to chrome plate them but that is a wee bit to muscle carish. And what the heck. I am also going to purchase some hose techiques silicone black couplers instead of the blue vortech, yet again purly cosmetic. I have had my headers, intakes, misc engine parts ceramic coated on my old camaro and really like the look, and what little benfit i get from the coating is just a added bonus to the good looks that come laong with it.
