I took apart my spare 350z block and from what I recall there was only two thrust washers, which went on the main cap. Now I am looking at the 2004 manual and it appears that there 4 thrust washers, two that go in the block, and two in the main cap. I just torqued the main caps, and girdle on, and I can't see if there is a groove for two thrust bearings in the block. Does anyone know if the earlier blocks had two, or four thrust bearings?
Thanks
Chris
Thanks

Okay, first off I have a 2004 roadster with a build date of 8/03. I replaced my thrust bearings or they look more like washers as you already noticed. They're were two in the front and two in the rear. Do you want me to dig up part numbers? I hope this helps.

Why did you replace your thrust bearings? So basically you're saying that there are two (upper and lower) in front of main cap #3 and two on the back of the main cap ( upper and lower)
I only remember taking out two bearings, and therefore I put only two back in. So I will have to take the main caps off and pull the crank out enough to get the bearing in.
I think the motor is from an earlier Z, so I am wondering if the newer motors have 4 thrust bearings, and the older ones only have 2? ethier that, or I screwed up.
