Default Superchargersonline.com - Vortech for $4899

I found out about this website called superchargersonline.com which is apparently a pretty well known (and authorized) dealer of different supercharger brands.

I emailed or a price quote and got $4899 for a Vortech kit (not the tuner kit) for the 2003 350Z. Is this a decent price? It's by far the best I've seen. I called up Evolution Autosports and was quoted $5300 by Jeff. They also comment on it not being smog legal "yet." Does this mean that by installing it, I will no longer pass emmissions testing?

Here's the link to the kit -- http://www.superchargersonline.com/p...roductID=1840.

Thanks!

I would suggest that you contact Paul @ Avalon. They are a my350Z.com sponsor. I have found them to match or beat any price I found, plus their support is GREAT!

SungNamZ

How much WHP are you getting?
Do you feel your system is safe?
May I ask how much the WHOLE SETUP cost installed?

Thanks,

Tom

I bought my satin Vortech from Paul at Avalon Racing for $4017 -$100 Vortech rebate last December. Paul has the best prices, I believe, in the US and the service is fantastic. I had Paul's mechanic, Jeff, finish my installation--he is a true master of perfection. Even if it would cost a bit more through Paul than somewhere else, I would still recommend Avalon. Also, don't go by the price on Avalon's website (www.avalonracing.net). Call Paul directly. He's a great guy to deal with--very prompt to return messages and e-mails.

1. 340 rwhp

2. "SAFE"? Definately. Vortech 7 pounds boost. Even with TS "limited flash", still "SAFE".

3. Installed it myself. Kit, Zeitronix Wideband and some misc. stuff - $5000.00

Instruction are VERY good. Had most the tools required

Only 340rwhp out of the Vortech? I thought you got 350rwhp out of the box, and then more with tuning?

The prices went up according to avalon. I wasn't ready to buy when they had that crazy vortech special. I was last month though...until I found out how much it went up.

True... I guess when I made that comment I was comparing the 287bhp to 340whp, which numbers wise, isn't a big difference. But when you consider the source of the power, that is a huge difference. That's probably almost 100+ hp considering those 287 ponies we have now are probably what, 250ish rwp?

I just always hear how those with turbos are making more HP than what these superchargers make. Then again, I'd rather now have a blown engine and tranny considering this is my daily driver and I don't have that sort of money to spend fixing engines, repairing problems, and reflashing ECU's.

Wow, ok. Even less than I imagined.

Just out of curiousity... the new 2005 C6 Corvette claims 500bhp. How much is actually going to the wheels?

In other words, does a superchargered 350Z stand a chance alongside a stock C6?

The Vette is designed to put that power to the ground more effectively than a stock Z which would have many traction issues with C6 power.

Adjusting Camber/LSD can help that.

Im not sure what a C6 puts to the ground but I bet its in the 350WHP neighborhood!

My base dyno numbers after installing Borla exhaust was 226 rwhp. Given it is a 5AT, I am very happy with 340 rwhp with Vortech SC and current mods.
