Default Need help with Vortech and Emanage

I am begining to regret my decision to modify my car. It has been one problem after another. Here's the short version.

I bought the Vortech because I felt it was the best bang for the buck since I am not interested in anything more that 400hp and do not plan on running high boost. While trying to find a installer/tuner in Miami, to my disbelief, I could only find one tuner that knows the Split Second box.....Can't believe that in such a big f'ing city no shops know this f'ing unit. Since I did not know much about this shop I went with another shop.

Anyway, I decided to go with the Greddy Emanage and injector/ignition harness instead of the split second box because the shop I choose knows this piggy back. My problem is the shop doing the work can't figure out how to hook up the ignition harness. After many hours on this site I found this wiring diagram Link and sent it to them. They followed this diagram and still can't get the ingition harness to work. They are now telling me that I don't really need to pull timing. I am very concerned that my f'ing car will blow up.

Does anyone know how to get this harness to work on a G35? Please help I dropped my car off two weeks ago today! I am really begining to regret wasting all this money on mods instead trading my car in for C6.

First off I would tell to make sure they are going with pin numbers on the ECU instead of wire colors . The Instuction may be for a Z and the colors arent the same, but the pins numbers are . You should have stayed with the Split Second Box . Had them follow the instruction to wire it . Then found some one to tune it . The tune thats in the SS box is conservetive and would have done you fine untill you found someone . Tell them to put it in and sell the emanage

Thanks Booger, I think I might just do that. I already called the shop that knows the split second. If I have them put in the ss box will the car be driveable on the stock ss settings considering I have RC 550's?

You need to pull timing. The folks at Ultimate Racing installed the Emanage on my Z - try calling them and speaking to Darryl. Find some way to see if you can help each other.

I would not run boost without pulling timing.

Perservere and you will get there, and it will be awesome!!!

You may want to call Richard at Autosport Wiring regarding his ECU patch harness. It greatly simplifies tapping into the ECU harness.

Ditto to Boog and teh215... Installing the split seconf box is as easy as following the instructions that come with the Vortech. So your installer should certainly be able to handle it.
As far as tuning, there are lot's of people on this board (including) myself that know how to tune the SS box with the R4 software you can purchase from split second. It helps if you have an A/F-Boost guage that has a datalog function.
Ultimately you will be just fine running the stock tune from Vortech until your are confident you have someon that can tune your car. Good luck

Well it was finally figured out.....something to do with the vortech aux fuel pump that was shorting out the ECU or something. Anyway they removed the aux pump and it worked fine with the emanage.

My base dyno was 232 with top speed header, y-pipe, 3 inch b pipe, and greddy sp2. The lowest dyno run after install was 362 and the highest was 380. This is with a conservative tune. The tuner told me the a/f was about 11.2 pretty much across the board and drops to 10.8 somewhere up high because it was dotonating. I know I can get more out of the car, but I feel safe with this tune. This way I can beat the
**** out of it and not worry. If Techno Square works out the flash for the 2004.5 I will send mine and maybe get another 20 hp.

I will post a dyno when it is emailed to me. Their printer was low on toner so I can barely read the one I have.

How is your fuel system set up without the aux. fuel pump that comes with the Vortech? Without it the FMU wouldn't be able to run high enough psi to support boost over 3500 rpms or so...

I am using the stock fuel pump, rc 440 injectors, and Greddy emange.....could be comparable to the Greddy TT setup only I have a blower.
