Angry 3 Things that will make you shoot yourself

And the bronze metal goes to.....

Paying to get an EGT sensor welded in your test pipes... only to find out that you can actually scrape some of the weld off with your fingers....check out the air leak line on that...

The silver medal goes to....

Paying $6000 for a turbo kit... that uses crappy wastegates... BOOST LEAK anyone? Turbonetics here I come...

And the gold medal goes to...

Rusty bolts that snap inside your turbo... this was awful... it got stuck about 2/3 the way out turning it by hand... which has happened a few times... so i put the ratchet on... and... SNAP... I put less pressure on this bolt than any of the other ones... hope i dont have to get that drilled out.... probably will...

Hmm... yeah those things suck pretty bad....

Two words for ya....anti-seize compound on all the hot bolts and threads, and heat treat the hot parts.

Wasn't there some thread that says those gaskets leak because the holes aren't drilled through? (I believe reaming the hole or using shorter bolts fixes the leak)

The stock Greddy gaskets used to be crappy paper gaskets. The newer kits have the thicker metal headgaskets, and no leaks.

Anthony had one of the earlier Greddy kits.

1) go to someone who knows how to weld
2) tial makes great wastegates but crappy gaskets.. go turbonetics gaskets
3) use grade 8 allen bolts from home depot. It's 10 time easier to unscrew and screw on and they never snap. I crossed threaded the bolt once on the turbo with that allen bolt and it wouldn't break if when i wanted it to. I had to cut it in half because i needed to take off the downpipe.
