Default Got a price on a dyno tune.

Dunno if its a good deal or not, 75.00 to weld a bung in and 125.00 a hour to tune. I have a month wait and have to get the R4 software from Vortech and cable to attch the PC. Is this a decent deal? Where can I get the software and cable from?

I believe you can get the cable from radio shack and you can order the software from split second directly....I think the software is somewhere around $20 bucks and the cable like $5-$10. You can ask Paul from Avalonracing for one. Didn't you buy the s/c from him?

As far as tuning it's not bad, but shop around and try to find it cheaper. The bung I have no clue.

125 a hour to tune is standard going rate, if not cheaper then some places.

The scary part is they dont know how long its going to take. They said five hours up to ten hours depending on how far off the map is. I wouldnt think it would be that far off with the split second box, but what do I know, lol.

5 hours of work and they are only charging $125? Or is it 125/hour. I normally charge between 150-300 for a tune on a Z depending how long its on the dyno for.

Your tune should not cost you more than $550 bucks and that is way high. Why don't you tune it yourself. Seems like your are somewhat mechanically inclined since you installed the kit yourself. There is a tunning guide on split second's website. Use the $500 you would pay to tune and buy yourself a wideband 02 sensor.

Why not try getting a map from someones car that has been tuned alread and then just bring it to get fine tuned or fine tune it yourself from there? I'm sure someone on here wouldnt mind sharing their map with you especially if you give them a little $$$.

Great Idea! I was told before that you could do that. You can have the program emailed to you and then fine tune with a experienced tuner....maybe 1 hr on the dyno would do it.

I just had my Procharger installed and was wanting to get a dyno tune. Is the tune just to get the FMU tuned right or is there a certain software program to tune the ECU? I may just get the TS reflash. Thanks.
