Default Vortech has been on for a week and this belt is driving me nuts!!

Ok everyday but one Ive had to adjust it! I can start then turn the car off quick and then restart and the squeal goes away. But I would like to not have to do this. Im already running the gates belt. How many time do I need to adjust this thing? I thought I would be past break in on the belt.

It'll go on for another week or two. I had to do the exact same thing with mine. I ended up cutting a 2" hole in the under engine plastic so I didn't have to keep taking it off when I adjusted the belt.

I only had to adjust mine once. I let it squeel for a week or two without adjusting because it would only squeel for 5-10 seconds on cold start. Once I had it adjusted it has not squeeled anymore. I picked my car up on 02/26/05 so it's been about a month since the install and I had the belt adjusted last week.

That squeel can be embrassing coming from a $40k car.

Im 6' 1'' 210lb's not skinny . You have to put your arm down in the right spot..squeeze it down . You have to have the socket wrench in your hand with the head in your hand . Feel for the nut , get it on and wrench away . Tuff to do but I got tired of taking off the pan when I had on the original belt . I can retighten in about 3-5 minutes
