Without the VLSD my SLIP light used to come on all the time when getting aggressive with the throttle. With the VLSD rear diff my SLIP light rarely comes on anymore.

I never have issues when the VDC is off. The only time it has came back on was at a time when there was airbag deployment, and I am thankful it stopped the car, or I might still be spinning (toboned by a 93 caddy right by the rear wheel).

I've done a complete, totally out of control, 180 spin and VDC never did a thing. I was even pretensious enough to curse it afterwards, even though I was the one who shut it off (in the rain) thirty seconds before the spin. It was the last time I ever 'wanted to see what RWD can do in the rain.'

yes, in stock condition i did that 2. downshift through a turn on the freeway, wet roads, going onto a bridge, and a semi on each side right behind me. oh ya, drunk too, lol. had the vdc on, but it all happened so fast it didn't have time to catch it. luckily, i managed to control the4-5 fishtails the car did with the front tires never leaving a straight line, different story for the back end though, lol. i must have looked like i was having a seizure batting the wheel back and forth!!!

The VDC system is probably capable of making hundreds of calculations per second about the vehicles condition. I can't imagine anything happening "too fast" for the computer. Are you sure it didn't do anything, or is it possible that you and it were both acting at the same time? Wonder what the outcome would have been were the VDC off?

well i would imagine it to be impossible for it to recover the car from anything once you loose traction in a situation like that. even when i hit the gas hard it will spin the tires for a sec before it comes on. i can even get the back to do a quick fishtail with it on and not even have it try to catch it. honestly the only time vdc was a benefit for me was in the snow. other than that, when i find myself in a hairy spot, i would rather not fight the car plus vdc trying to control it as it makes the whole situation less predictable. i have only wrecked once and it was because of abs brakes. i needed all 4 tires to lock up, and only 2 did making my car go the wrong direction.
these systems can help a novice driver when they are pushing it. but if you are pushing it really hard, you want it to be predictable and a computer trying to control the car when it really has no idea what the hell is really happening except g-forces and tire speeds it can make the whole situation worse.
i was heading on a 2 lane mountain road hitting turns anywhere from 100-120mph, and the damn vdc started trying to lock up my front inside tire even though i was not sliding or close to sliding. tends to make me not trust the whole system, and in that cause had me pissed off and a little butt puckered up, as it was trying to pull me off the road.
