Default Preliminary Dyno Results

Okay, without getting into the whole altitude correction thing, I will post both corrected and uncorrected results. These are prelimary tuning results and by NO MEANS THIS IS THE END OF THE POWER. I am just scratching the surface at this point, running 15psi. Also, I need to get my Type RS bov installed. I am reaching the limits of the Type S now!!

Corrected for alt (aka what I would get a sea level)=
510rwhp/492.7ft-lbs

Uncorrected for altitude here at 5500feet
413rwhp/399ft-lbs

I will post dyno graphs on Monday. Now, its time to hunt, (insert horrendously evil laugh) BwwwAahahaha, BwwwAahahaha

Terrific results.....glad to see the car up and running properly now! Can you give us some detail on how the car was tuned..in terms of timing, AF ratios..etc....if you have those available.

Also, you might want to double check the BOV vaccum lines...actually...all of your vaccum lines. I ran my dinky little type-S up to nearly 20psi without any leaks. Usually, the BOV...if too small for a given application, will result in compressor surge when it blows-off, rather than leakage under boost...especially if you have the top nut really nice and tight. The vacuum line attached to the BOV actually pushes down on the diaphram as your boost increases. So the more you boost, the more seat pressure you have on the valve...keeping it closed. Or maybe there is a leak somewhere else, like intercooler piping, or the BOV flange itself.

Just a couple other areas to check out. Congrats again ernie!!

Thanks, since I already have a bov on the way. It will be an easy swap and then we can elimate that possibility. By the sounds of it though, it probably isnt that since you have had no problems all the way up to 20 psi.

on later runs, the BOV waqs tightened down almost completely..this did result in compressor surge!

Nice numbers Ernie! Are you going with the Type RS next or Type R?

I am getting the Type RS from my sponsor, but I will not rule out the Type R if I have to later on.

i'm dynoing tomorrow night...can't wait to see what this thing does above 4500rpm...that's where she wats to start laying down the real power, and then i have to let off (i'm not going over 4500 rpm until it is tuned safely up top--down low 3/4 throttle is sweet, drops to 12:1 or lower...rich and safe..egt's staying low, smooth acceleration..i think my car is tuned perfect to the current 440's in there now..tomorrow morning, swap in the 550's, a few other little things, then dyno tomorrow night, ernie convinced me to go outright to 15psi..these little tires dont hold up at all (i said on another thread-last night i lost traction in 4th gear!)
my new wheels get here thurs- i got traCKING numbers!!!

WISH ME LUCK EVERYONE!!!, hopefully i'll only pull around 10 degrees of timing at the most and make 550rwhp sae corrected (450 actual)..i'll re tune after i get my wheels and get used to this power
