Yeah it does kinda suck though. I mean I was able to find the HKS, Greddy, and Apexi instructions online and the only other one I like as far as settings and user interface was the Apexi but people have said they have seen problems with the Apexi not maintaining correct boost pressure every time so I went with the Blitz

You just gotta be VERY careful when you do this. Remember that you're venting 1000-1200 degree exhaust gas directly out of the wastegate into the under-hood atmosphere. If the venting occurs anywhere near the signal hose for the wastegate, you could end up with no boost control. I've haven't heard of this happening yet, but it would be a damn shame.

In a street set up there is really no major need to do this. There will not be any significant performance gains to be had by doing so. The car will be a bit louder but thats about it...

MIA, can you clarify where the stock wastegate normally vents? I'm guessing it's back into the exhaust stream? Is this physically done into the down pipe?

Yes it dumps into the downpipe from the turbo. The wastegate is divorced from the turbo and there is a discharge pipes that runs from the wastegate outlet to the turbo downpipe....

So that tube runs between the output side of the wastegate and some flange on the downpipe?

Do you happen to have a picture of either the turbo (w/wastgate) or the downpipe out of the car, like the dump tube pic above? Not being too familiar with the physical characteristics, I'm envisioning that the WG is bolted to the side of the snail?

I see. So in this picture, I can see the dump tube behind the heat-shielded signal hose. This dump tube runs up to the the waste-port on the turbo and the gate itself is bolted to the downpipe? I can't tell from the picture, but what is the downpipe connecting to just to in this picture?

No the pipe the wastegate is connected to is the turbo feed pipe. The dump tube goes UP to the turbo downpipe which starts higher up at the exhaust outlet flange of the turbo...

Ah....So the wastegate is actually venting pressure from the feed pipe rather than from the turbine housing based on a pressure signal (or is it a vacuum signal). Where is the control hose connected to on the intake side of the system?

The control hose is ran from manifold pressure...

You don't have to do anything. The BOV that comes with the kit already vetns to atmosphere and will make that nice PSHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! sound when you shift under pressure...
