I tried using the return fuel fix from AAM today . I would like to know if any one else has had trouble with it ? The fittings and hose length is totally not doable . After getting the hose on , The hose binds up on the sides of the fuel pot and it will not spring up and down freely . I tried routing the hose at many angles and it wouldnt work . I ended up getting a piece of hose from the Performance shop down the street and using the fittings Phunk had from his fix .

They finally sent it a couple weeks ago .I didnt even use thier plug because it was longer than the one Phunk has , and the cap didnt look like it would snap on . So I didnt use any thing AAM sent to fix the fuel return . I got a piece of the blue hose from the P shop thats rated to be submerced in fuel .
Bill,
I'm sorry for the difficulty you had with the install. This has been test fit on over five 350Z/G35's. I personally have attempted the install 10 or 12 times to insure that the lines fit. The fit is tight and requires some patience, but it is doable. The instuctions are pictures are laid out so that the most effecient and effortless procedure is used. Please do not hesitate to call me on my cell if you cannot reach me at the shop in these situations. You do have to play with the plastic container to get it to pass teh plug properly.

I got your email...thanks
Seems the problem maybe where my shop drilled thru the bulkhead for the fitting . They may have drilled it in the wrong place and made it impossible to get your hose to work .As far as the plug .....AAM's was longer , so I didnt even try to get it to fit in , because the cap needs to be snapped back in place . Thanks for clearing thinks up .

Yup, its a tight fit, but with the return fitting placed exactly where the picture illustrates, then it will work. It took me about 10mins of playing with it to get everything seated, threaded, and situated properly, but it works! There is very little room to work with inside that plastic fuel pump assembly, so there is no way around the tight fit.
And the line is design to be submerged in fuel, so there should be no issue with the line stability.

My shop attempted to install the aam fix, even after this information of how it is a "tight fit"...the problem is, once you install the CJ motorsports fix, the AAM fix is not a direct bolt on, i'm not exactly sure which piece of the assembly is altered, but my shop had to fabricate their own fix, so if you guys at aam have any suggestions of how to make your fix work..please let me know, as i would prefer to use yours!

Glad to see it wasn't just me . The fittings AAM uses with thier fix...90 degree for the bottom and around 30 degree's for the top fitting . Along with the length of hose used , only allow it to reach and work in a certain area of the bulkhead on top . The CJ motorsports fix is more of a direct path from top fitting to the bottom fitting . So the angle of the top fitting of the AAM will not let it happen
Despite buying the AAM fuel system through the group buy (through gq) several months back and sending AAM an email, I have not yet received the fix. In fact, I never received a return email either. Are you guys just receiving the fix now or did I somehow get overlooked? Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the mix-up. Can you email me your info so I can get one out to you? I'll make sure it goes out overnight UPS tomorrow.

I would think that if you took out the fitting where it is now , and redrilled where AAM suggests and then reinstall the fitting it will work . You would have to plug the original hole though

Here are some of the images in color. This may help because the black and white is sometimes a little difficult. Even if the hole for the return line is slightly off there should still be enough play in the line to insure proper alignment. It takes some dexterity to secure the top line and get the threads on there properly. The top fitting should be left loose. Then use yoru thumb to press it against the assembly lightly and pull the bottom of the line up to the replacement plugs 90 deg fitting. The line is meant to have a 90 deg radius bend in it, but the installer must do so themselves. The line is not soft and must be coaxed into position.
Hope that helps
