Default Intercooler effectiveness behind mesh grill?

How much will my intercooler be affected if I leave the mesh in place on my Vizage bumper (assuming of course it doesn't have to be removed to make the IC fit in the first place)? If it's going to reduce the IC's performance, I'll remove it, but I have this mesh in all of the openings on both the Vizage kit and my Seibon hood, so I'd kinda like to maintain it. It probably consumes about 60% of the total area of the opening, which is why I'm concerned. Any thoughts?

Here's a pic of the bumper as it exists currently:

I think you are fine with it bro. My intercooler is behind my factory plastic grill which if anything provides LESS flow then that and I have been fine. It also appears to have little affect on egnine cooling as my water temp has yet to go over 140 and my oil temp is steady at 235-240

Should have no issues, if anything it will protect it a little bit from debris and rocks.

my intercooler still exposed to the elements- getting beat up---keep some sort of protection over it to keep it perty!

Where can you buy this type of mesh?

Hey, are you calling my car a mess???

Seriously though, it was on both the hood and the kit when I bought them, so I'm not sure where you'd buy it. Sorry. I really like it though, and I'm glad to see that the consensus is that it can stay in place if possible.

Its just expanded metal. You should be able to pick some up at your local hardware store, or Menards/Home Depot.

That's what happens when you try to post at work while trying not to let anyone see you.
