APS Single turbo (automatic) and TT CARB report
hey guys, just wanted to let you know that APS is in the process of releasing their kick *** single turbo for the automatic z's of the world after measuring my engine bay yesteday at brainstorm . this kit made something like 380 at the wheels on the manual dynoed the same day so you do the math for the auto. also good news, Robert from APS said they are working on their new plenum complete with injectors... this means that you wont need to beef up your stock ones (which makes carb almost impossible because of cold start) i think, but what it also means is that this system is as i understand it one step from getting a C.A.R.B. number. awesome guys. awesome gains. awesome systems. very impressed.

Glad to here the outcome! Hearing numbers like that coming off of the dyno makes me not so upset for having an auto. Got any pics or video? Hope you enjoy it!
OK, I'm confused (a common occurance). You say that APS is creating a new plenum complete with injectors, then say that means you don't have to beef up your stock ones. Either you need bigger injectors or you don't. If the new plenum has injectors that are not the stock ones, I would assume they are bigger. Isn't this the same as beefing up your stock ones?
Can you help unscramble my Monday-addled brain by providing more details?
I don't really care as long as the CARB cert shows up and it puts out the same numbers the current kit has. I have just been waiting so long for this that wallowing in the details is the only way I know how to get through it.
Thanks.

Not to throw reality in the face of optimism but if you follow the C.A.R.B. process threads it is obvious that it takes a long, long time after it's started and the request on this one hasn’t even been made yet.

First off, the ST kit has never been slated for a CARB EO, nor could it ever get one IMO, the TT was.
As for the Plenum strategy , more info if known please, The original plan was to use the 500 Bosch's as used in the base TT kit and for "big" fuel needs, the OEMs woiudl be re-used in the new upper Plenum. Has this strategy changed?

Its still not clear whether/or not there will be something in between:
a) Tallboy "only"
b) Tallboy " with injectors", after all this was suppose to be the reason to delay the Tall boy release to begin with.
c) Gigantor "single / twin TBs" ?
d) ???????????
If APS is watching this thread. Please shed a little light already on your plans?

APS tall boy plenum with provision for 6 fuel injectos, this plenum will be part of the APS big fuel system, details to be released in approx 4 to 6 weeks.
This APS Gigantor race manifold should be on display at the 05 SEMA show if the development continues to go to plan - a completely new inlet manifold with twin plenum chambers and designed for very serious big HP high revving VQ engines.

I am beginning my "big bang (no pun hopefully)" install in about 4 weeks.
This includes the APS TT kit, forged (9.0CR LB) and lots of other too pricey stuff. So, I'm trying to nail down my future fueling strategy.
If I were to order the APS "Tallboy-only" now, could it be upgraded later to the full "big fuel" solution?
Basically will APS sell an "upgrade kit" for previously aquired Tallboy Plenums??
Will the big fuel solution put the OEM injectors "back into the heads" and the Bosch's (500s) into the Plenum or vise versa?
Any input now may save me labor later.
Thanx
too expensive to mentioned stuf on my G35C.

I can say that the APS big fuel system is a very comprehensive and designed to be a serious fuel system for high HP VQ engines, APS tall boy plenum with 6 aux injectors, twin high volume fuel pumps, fuel swirl pot, 4 billet aluminium fuel rails with fuel return, etc, etc.
Thanks

In short the answer is no, the APS tall boy plenum does not have provision for the aux injectors. Only the APS plenums sold as part of the APS big fuel system will have the 6 cast injector bosses and the additional machining for the aux fuel injectors. This big fuel system plenum is a different plenum casting to the stock APS tall boy plenum in order to save the unnecessary machining cost associated with mounting the 6 aux fuel injectors.
I will have full tech details on the APS big fuel system in the very near future - I will post these details as soon as I have final information from enginering.
