Default Return Bypass Correction now available for G35 Seden

Someone contacted me who is installing an APS turbo system on their G35 Seden. For those who dont know... some, if not all, of the G35 Sedens use an entirely different fuel pump assembly then the 350z and G35 Coupe.

None of the currently available return bypass mods would work on this pump assembly.

Long story short, I was sent a Seden pump assembly and we have constructed a return correction kit for it. Pricing for it is not set yet, but it will be a few bucks more since we are not making them on the CNC (not high enough volume, so they are hand machined) and there are a couple more parts involved.

If anyone is in need of this, contact me by email at charles@cj-motorsports.com or by PM on this forum. Some day eventually this will make it on the website, and pics will be posted there... if you need something immediately I can email you some pictures and get you setup.

If this is not something that you need immediately but feel that you will soon, drop me a line anyway so I can see what kind of need there is for this and determine how many I want to stock.

Thanks,
Charles

I have a 2004 6MT Sedan and already own an AAM fuel return system that I purchased naively (assuming it would work on my car). Is there a part or two I can purchase from you that would work with that existing system or do I need to just sell it and buy a whole new one from you. Here's a picture of what I have:

Oh yeah... Gurgen, how would this fuel return system work in conjunction with (or as a replacement for) the modifications required for the PE TT kit?

I am pretty sure the mods to the fuel system with the PE kit are just the replacement of the stock pump with the 255lph version and the injectors.
This mod would allow for the use of a return system like the APS TT kit has or the one from Charles. The only downfall is the extended wheelbase on the sedan would mean the supply/return lines would have to be measured and custom made to length. Same with the AAM.

zimbo, it is compatable with your AAM system... I use a -4 bulkhead fitting just like they do, so its definatly compatable. You can also try contacting AAM and see if they have any plans to do a bypass correction for the Seden... because when they finally released it for the Z they were sending them out for free to those who already purchased their kits... if they plan on doing that again it could save you a few bucks.

Steve (Z.),

Like Steve (g356gear) said, our kit it seems only replaces the stock pump with the walbro one, and puts the rising rate fpr after the stock fpr..So, our fuel pressure is invariably capped at a certain point. With a stock fuel pump, it is 51psi, with the 255lph - no one to my knowledge actualy measured - but I presume in the 60's or hihg 50's, so it is not a true rising rate, and of course it allows no adjustment. Now, i belive the bulkhead fitting (the return) just gets dumped into the tank from the top cover...without any kind of proper tie-in with the rest of system, specifically the syphon jets for the other side of the tank. There is evidence of that in my car, as right after the PE TT install, the last 1/4 tank range on the fuel quantity gauge drops down (or runs out) within the span of 10 miles or so, and I "run out" of gas with about 4 gallons of it still in the tank (as it takes 16gal max at this point to top off the tank).

hence, the need for this proper correction kit, and if oyu ask me, it is a very slick setup the way Charles made it.

Ok, I have the same 1/4 tank of gas problem you do so I see the point about bypass.

Bypass issue aside, what I'm understanding is that the AAM kit I bought (used) *still* might not work because the sedan wheel base is different than the 350z. Correct?

At this point I'm pretty much walking a tightrope. If I fall on one side it will mean trying to get this car finished (built motor, fuel figured out). If I fall on the other side it will mean taking the car back to stock and probably selling it. The wind is blowing toward selling. This hobby has been really fun while it's lasted but my monthly TCO (total cost of ownership) is higher than if I'd just leased an E55 AMG.

With the AAM kit, it will be pretty simple to just extend the SS braided line if it is not long enough (which it probably won't be). Just by the same size male and female fitting (1 each) and a section of hose, and you are good to go.

As far as keeping the car, I understand you compeltely. With the amount of money that has gone into this one, I could have had another Beech Bonanza (that I used to own a while ago).

I hear you guys.....it would appear that the path less traveled is not always the cheaper one.
