Default Motor build with vortech

Hey guys,
I'm about to build my motor with my vortech and was wondering if you guys could throw in some input...Im goin with the Arias 8.6:1 pistons and pauter rods with RC 550 injectors and all the other little things i need....im tryin to run a decent amount of boost out of the vortech, as of right now, im running 0.8 bar out of it with the 2.87 pulley which is about 11.75 psi....last dynoed was 418 whp on a mustang dynometer....after building the motor, i wanted to run maybe 20 or so psi out of the charger with an upgraded impeller from vortech if it was possible...any suggestions would help....thanks!

ps. check out sig for mods list so far...

Maybe a 9.0 or 9.3 compression would be better for a supercharger.

just my 2 cents.

In any case I would love to see the results.

Good luck !

i was thinking about higher compression pistons than 8.6:1 too, i only said 8.6 for now cuz thats whats easiest to get since they are in stock....
What hp numbers you guys think it would hit with about 20 or so psi on the charger?

Get the 10:1 CP pistons if you're gonna do it. ESPECIALLY w/ a centrifugal blower!

Try forgedinternal.com. You won't see those pistons on the site, but email Sharif the owner or give him a call, and he can probably source them for you. He has very competive prices. As far as how much you can boost with a rebuilt blower pm booger. He currently has a built motor with the vortech and just got his blower back from Vortech.

How come the S/C trim blower that comes with the kit is rated at 20 psi, and people say that with the 2.87 pulley that i have which only puts out 11.75 psi (0.8 bar) is overspinning the impeller?

Just because its rated at 20psi , doesnt mean thats what you get . That rating is with out a intercooler , pipeing , throttle body , and plenum . Its rated at the end of the blower .

By Vortech's site the S-trim has the same spec's as the SC-trim . I got a boost leak and made 12psi yesterday at 6,300rpm with the T-trim . I'll see what I can get in the next week or so
