If I was in your situation I would attempt to get one of those from SGP. Very sorry to hear about your engine though man.

sorry to hear about your engine man, but shouldn't you already know all this stuff if you're going FI in the first place?

I agree, go with SGP racing and get yourself a built engine, they'll guide you - costs some $$$$ though

Sorry to hear you blew your motor. If you've never built a motor, I would recommend SGP. Using them will take out the guess work. It will be a one stop shop. Not only that they have built several vq's and have the experience.

How many psi were you running? Did you have a pressure sensor harness and timing harness?

I'll give it a few minutes before this thread turns into APS is the best and how Greddy sucks.

Freddie rocks, sure hope I don't get got, 12k miles and 9 months and still running.

On topic, can you give some details such as when it was installed, how much boost you were running, what other mods do you have, it is nice to know specifics to see if it is something really wrong or probably another install issue.

Seems like the Greddy shouldn't even be used without a motor buildup.

it wasnt really tuned..but only the e-01.
i tried to use boost at 7psi but the stupid machine couldnt learn the boost.so i decided to use the manual mode with 0 duty and 0 gain which pulled about 7.5~8 psi.
so i brought it to the track and ran 13s with stock boost.then i turn on the boost.
the car was running well 1,2,and 3rd gear and i shifted to 4th.after shifting and put on the gas,i heard the blow up sound and the motor went off..
i put the tt in 2004.11 and finally went dead.
other mods that i was running were injen exhaust, and test pipe.
i didnt have time to do the timing and else..

xxx...there is always more to the story. ANY forced induction kit can blow up if used improperly, or tuned, or the proper installation techniques are not adheared. And I am the first to admit, the Greddy kit is far from complete right out of the box. But with proper setup, and a couple of additional modifications, it can be just as safe as the other kits on the market...if not safer.

In this case, its unfortunate, but it appears that the boost was increased without any additional tuning or fuel provisions. I would certainly not be blaming it on the Greddy kit.

But realistically, with any Forced Induction applications, you are approaching the reasonable limits of the stock internals at about the 425whp mark. Yes you can run more power, and some have..but its a danger zone that I wouldnt want to be in.

+1 on SGP. I'll also plug http://www.forgedinternals.com/main.htm for parts and advice.

Right there you have it, increasing boost without fuel or timing being addressed. On manual mode and 0's on the settings should have given you 5-6 psi so you had something else going on maybe a faulty wastegate install.

Did you have a wideband 02 sensor to monitor the AF ratio? On your e01 what is the peak psi registered?

sorry about your loss...i have been there...

not to sound like an a$$, but why didn't you read up on this a bit and learn more about the setup before running 8psi with no other upgrades??!!!?

there is tons of info and preventative tips on how to run this kit safely...many of us have gone through this several months ago..wondering why you didn't learn from out mistakes...?

anyway, i feel for you, pm me your e-mail and i'll send you some lists of parts you'll need for the rebuild
