Talking Finally did it! APS TT on order...

After much debating and looking through endless threads here on my350.com. I have decided to order the APS TT kit. I would like to thank all of the people here that have posted their FI experience. You have saved me a lot of time and money.

A couple of questions though .

My car will be used for road course time trials so keeping this beast cool will be my main concern.

Currently I have a Koyo Radiator being sent my way as well as JWT clutch and flywheel. Is it worthwhile to invest in an oil cooler? If so what brand? What about an oil catch can? Also I am currently running a Nismo cat back exhaust system. Is this system adequate enough or should a get true dual for more HP? Is it worth the added weight?

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My car slated for a mid/late June install.

Thanks in advance.

You might want to bounce some of these questions off of Peter.

I think you should get all those items if you road race. I read some thread where people reported they got 20hp by going to a true dual w/FI, from all reports the Greddy and the APS exhaust seem to be very good for FI.

JWT clutch and flywheel Did you get the "Full Street" or the "Semi-Street"? I also have a Super Black Track and ordered the jwt cams, Koyo Radiator, and APS TT. I'll be talking with ZCargarge on other suggestions. What gauges did you get? I have the NISMO Exhaust and staying with it. But than again, I'm not planning on racing track, just keeping the front on the highway when the sti, carvettes, mustangs, and other thought to be's try to do a little show off bit.

i'm in a similar boat, and am thinking along the same lines. i just got in on the aps single turbo kit over at the 'other' site, and the car's predominate usage is track days. i'm going to order the koyo (don't know of any other drop-in large cap radiator), and roll my own oil cooler. using something like this (sandwich plate):

http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/mocal.htm

and this (16 row version)

Besides the obvious cooling advantage, you'll get larger oil capacity. Between the larger pan included with the aps, and the lines and cooler, we should get an extra 2 quarts in the system. ought to make a good bit of difference.

honestly, i'm not really sure what the catch can does (traps crankcase breather oil fumes instead of dumping into the intake?). i probably won't bother.
