If FI has been in your plans since *before* your 3.9 FD install, ouch. These components mix like oil and water. The overwhelming consensus is a 3.9 FD is good for NA applications, but problematic with FI. As you suspect, traction will be an issue with an FI/3.9 FD combination. Many who have installed FI are swapping for taller FDs, like the 3.3 FD from 5ATs. Do you still have your original FD? If you decide to go FI, you'll want it back in there... In the meantime, enjoy your new 3.9.

I was afraid you would say that and I still do have my 3.5 gears. I wasn't really planning to go FI but the bug (mod bug) has got me. Anyone else had experience with this combo? Thanks for your input. Should I stay NA or go FI id the question? He is selling the Vortec on the classifeids and I don't know what to do. Help me make the right decision. Is it worth it to lose a little $ to go to the Voretec? I thimk I would be happy to run with a corvette with my Z and I know the Vortec would help me get there faster than NA. Please help!!?? What would you do? I can save about a $1000 getting this used.

Not good. With the linear powerband of a vortech supercharger, you wouldn't have time to even shift through 1st and 2nd, and would spend more time spinning your tires than actually accelerating. You'd be better off switching back to the 3.5 gears before going with any FI.

I know the feeling that you've wasted money on NA mods. I wish I had put all the cash I spent on intake/exhaust mods into something like a body kit or interior upgrades. Oh well, live and learn.
