From what I understand about the sponsorship program it is primarily designed for vendors and retailers that sell parts. Manufacturers often are exempt, since they arent selling the parts directly, but simply answering questions and sometimes asking for member opinions and input on programs.

UTEC (TurboXS) is in the process of doing this now, and it would be a bad policy to demand that manufacturers pay a sponsorship fee in this situation.

However, if Turbonetics was coming on the board and blatantly promoting their products, and talking badly about the competitive products...then they should pay the fee. I dont think Mia or Turbonetics are doing this.

I think they are doing a great service by answering the myriad of questions about a brand new product...that few people have much experience with. Keep up the good work!

I'm of the impression that is just plain wrong... I highly suspect that someone may be getting something out of this, while trying to give the impression that it's just "consumer feedback".

Policy or not... IMO this should be stopped. I don't care which company it's about but this is 1000% SPAM in my opinion.
Your attempt at being smart has failed

What does this have to do with this thread? Please don't drag this thread into this crap. If you have a problem PM a moderator or administrator. Don't ruin a thread that was fine before you posted this though.

True, though Tanabe is a sponsor and does not sell to the public.

I think it's ok if their products aren't a threat to paying sponsors.

I somewhat disagree, if a manufacturer isn't competing with any product any sponsor makes, I don't see a problem with it. (APS had parts that competed with Tanabe, which is why they were banned)

I agree.
