My question is about emissions and standalones..
Here in PA, emissions testing is thru the OBDII port where they basically login to your car to see if you had a check engine code from running catless and the like. Obviously, with a standalone like HKS, things get messy... Is there anyone here that might be in PA or in any other state that passed emissions with a standalone?
As all OBDII cars are now getting tested with this new method on a computer and gets logged in a database, it became also harder to just ask for a favor to your buddy to pass you at his shop.

The HKS reads codes out properly and will not normally set off a cell unless you are running catless. It replicates all the signals so that the factory ECU "thinks" that it is still running the show. Its great becasue we can still use the OBDII electronics to diagnose issues. Whether or not it will pass emmissions is another thing.
